Project status¶
Nova is a browser-first platform built on the 2016 Roblox engine, with selected modern API backports. The goal is to run every Roblox game with as little modification as possible.
- API gaps are documented as work items.
- Some features are intentionally not planned: dynamic heads/faces, age-segregated chat, and age verification.
- Legacy Roblox features are never deprecated.
Read What Nova supports for the exact policy.
About this documentation¶
The documentation is open source; the Nova engine and platform are proprietary.
Generated API pages live under reference/ and are rebuilt from Nova's API dump,
the current Roblox API dump, and Roblox creator-docs. Guides and policy live
outside that directory and are maintained by contributors.
See Contributing if you want to fix a status or add a guide.
