Get started¶
Everything you need to play Nova is on the official platform:
1. Make an account¶
- Open the platform in a modern browser.
- Create an account.
- Verify your email if the platform asks you to.
- Pick a display name and finish your profile.
Use a unique password. Do not reuse your Roblox password, and do not share your login with anyone.
2. Find something to play¶
Use the catalog, search, or a link shared by a friend. Place pages usually show a thumbnail, description, and a Play button.
Some places may be private, age-restricted, or unavailable. If a place will not open, try another one first to check whether the problem is the place or your browser.
3. Play in the browser¶
The game runs in the browser using WebAssembly. The first load can take longer than later visits because the client is cached.
For the best experience:
- Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
- Keep hardware acceleration enabled.
- Close heavy tabs if the game stutters.
- Allow cookies/storage for the platform so your session can persist.
A desktop launcher mode is planned for players who prefer an installed client. It is not available yet.
4. Learn the controls¶
Most places use the familiar Roblox layout:
- WASD or arrow keys to move.
- Space to jump.
- Mouse to look and click.
- Shift is often sprint; individual games may change it.
See Controls and settings for more.
5. If something goes wrong¶
- The page loads but the game does not: try a private window, disable WebAssembly-blocking extensions, and reload.
- The game is slow: lower the game's quality settings if it has them, close other tabs, and check your connection.
- You cannot sign in: reset your password on the platform; do not use a third-party "Nova login" page.
